The Dual Harm project

This project investigates the intersection between self-harm and other-harm. Non-suicidal self-injury, or NSSI, involves intentionally harming oneself without the intention of suicide. Meanwhile, other-harm or aggression is any behavior aimed at causing physical or psychological harm to others. Sometimes individuals exhibit both NSSI and aggressive behaviors, a phenomenon known as dual-harm.

Understanding dual-harm can be beneficial for clinical and forensic practice, as it is often linked to riskier behaviors and a higher likelihood of criminal activity. Our study aims to delve into the different profiles of harm and identify distinct patterns among those who engage in either self-injury, aggression, or both.

Dual Harm is regularly looking for participants. Find out more on how to take part in our projects.
